This was our first attempt at a renewable assignment through which we aimed to provide UH students with opportunities to engage in meaningful work, add value to the world, and provide a foundation for future students to learn from and build upon. Rather than a traditional, disposable assignment which students throw away after they are graded, this renewable assignment contributes to children’s math learning and teachers’ toolkits for teaching math meaningfully. Without Ariana and Kate, we could not have done it!
