Less than
Formal Definition: “Less than” means that one number is less than another The “<” sign is used to represent it.
Kid Friendly Explanation: “Less than” means one number is bigger than another number. You use the “<” symbol to show this.
Example: If you have 1 apple and your friend has 3 apples, you have less than your friend. We write it like this: 1 < 3.
