Common Multiple

Formal Definition: A common multiple is a number that is shared as a multiple by two or more numbers. In other words, it’s a number that can be divided exactly by each of those numbers without any remainder.

Kid Friendly Explanation: A number that divides into two or more other numbers without leaving any leftover numbers is known as a common multiple.

Example: A common multiple for 2 & 3 would be 12.

Multiple of 2: 2,4,6,8,12  Multiple of 3: 3,6,9,12  Common Multiple: 12
